Bombardier Global 8000 Development & Background
Introduced in 2022, the Bombardier Global 8000 is the latest flagship model offered by Bombardier Aerospace and represents a significant leap forward in business aviation.
Bombardier manufactured the aircraft in Saint-Laurent (QC), Red Oak (TX), and Queretaro (Mexico). The first flight was completed on May 16, 2025, with FAA certification expected by the second half of 2025.
Built off the success of the Bombardier Global 7500, the Bombardier Global 8000 was created to set new benchmarks: fly farther than the original Global 7500, an uncompromising large cabin environment, and be the fastest in its class. Due to the success of over 200+ deliveries and 250,000 flying hours through the Bombardier Global 75000 program, the Global 8000 leveraged the information reported by the owners and operators to create a profound aircraft.
The engineers at Bombardier Aerospace gave the Global 8000 a “Smooth Flex” wing; this allows a high-lift wing for take-off/landing ease and a high-speed wing for cruise, optimizing both runway performance and long-haul efficiency. Power comes from the advanced GE Passport engines, which deliver outstanding thrust and efficiency for the ultra-long-range missions. Most importantly, the aircraft boasts a cabin altitude of just 2,900 ft at FL41,000 and multiple HEPA-level PurAir filtrations systems throughout the cabin.
