Daher Kodiak 100 Introduction

If I had a personal aircraft, this would be it. The Daher Kodiak 100 blends modern engineering with capable uses that most aircraft can’t. Similar to the DHC-6, the Kodiak 100 is designed for short, unpaved runaways, humanitarian missions, and quick regional hops.

Chartering a Kodiak 100 through FlyRoving is ideal for island transfers, wilderness lodges, mountain airports, and regional business trips — especially when flexibility and efficiency are top priorities.

Key Points: Why Charter the Kodiak 100?

  • Takeoff distance under 1,000 ft — perfect for remote runways

  • Equipped with the reliable Pratt & Whitney PT6A-34 turboprop

Kodiak 100 Development & Background

Quest Aircraft Company (founded in 2001 in Sandpoint, Idaho) created the Kodiak 100 with a goal to serve remote and underdeveloped regions, and replace aging piston STOL aircraft like the Cessna 185 and 206, while keeping comparable payload and STOL performance.

The first prototype flew in 2004, and certification came in 2007 under FAA Part 23. In 2019, French aerospace manufacturer Daher, responsible for the TBM series, acquired Quest aircraft and added them into the product lineup. The acquisition allowed the Kodiak to improve performance features like a five-blade propeller from Hartzell, G1000 NXi integrated flight deck, and further cabin noise reduction.

Kodiak 100 Experience

“As a pilot, the Kodiak inspires confidence. It’s powerful, modern, and capable of operating where few aircraft dare to go.”
