Hawker 4000 Development & Background
Originally conceived in the mid-1990s by Raytheon Aircraft Company, the aircraft was designed under the name Hawker Horizon. After its first flight in 2001, the Horizon faced delays due to advanced systems integration and composite manufacturing challenges. By the time it received FAA certification in 2006, Raytheon had rebranded its business aircraft division to Hawker Beechcraft Corporation, and the aircraft was officially renamed the Hawker 4000, entering full production in 2008.
