Learjet 35/35A Development & Background

Released in 1973, the Learjet 35/35A was one of the most coveted aircraft during the ‘80s. Built off the Learjet 25BGF, the Learjet 35 was equipped with the TFE731 turbofan engines, replacing the previous GE CJ610 turbojet engine. As they realized the new engine had increased power and less noise, they decided to build off the design, which created the Learjet 35. With a top speed cruise approaching 470 KTAS and a range exceeding 1,900 nautical miles, it was a compelling choice for executives and celebrities alike. Matter of fact, Frank Sinatra and James Brown enjoyed the comfortable cabin and the speeds in which the aircraft flew.

Since inception, over 800 Learjet 35/3A models have been built, with over 500 aircraft still in active service today despite being 50 years old.
